Tillandsia stricta

Tillandsia stricta is a medium-sized epiphytic air plant native to South America, typically growing to 12–15 cm in width and height. It features soft green leaves and produces a pink inflorescence with violet flowers. While individual blooms are short-lived, plants rapidly produce offsets after flowering, with new plants reaching flowering size within 8–12 months.

As an epiphyte, Tillandsia stricta grows without soil, attaching to surfaces for support while absorbing moisture and nutrients through its leaves. It grows best in bright, indirect light with good air movement and prefers regular watering with complete drying between cycles. Softer green-leaved forms favour slightly lower light and higher moisture compared to silver-leaved varieties.
