Sanderara Black Star ‘Pacific Red Star,’ will produce red flowers with little dabs of white and a touch of yellow in the center. It makes a nice addition to any orchid collection, especially since it can have 10 to 14 flowers on a single spike. The breeding is Brs. Santa Ynez x Onc. Fireflower, and you could call it a Brassidium if you like. This one is a really nice mericlone, very easy to grow and is a good beginner orchid. The flowers look like the ones in the first picture. They can be two inches or so across. These are near blooming size orchids with one or two pseudobulbs. They are freshly repotted into 105mm pots. These are likely to flower within 12 to 24 months, which is our definition of near blooming size. They are not in flower now. We have a number of these and we’ll pick out a nice one for you. The pictures shows the kind of flowers to expect, and some of the plants in the greenhouse. We will ship in the pot. Medium light and water are best, fertilize weakly twice a month.
