Bulbophyllum siamense is related to B lobbii and having a similar culture they differ in having shorter, thicker sepals and straighter, non twisted petals. This species ranges from Assam to Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and pennisular Malaysia through Indonesia as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte that blooms in the spring and summer on a single flowered inflorescence with a fragrant flower.
