This species is a miniature sized, hot to cool epiphyte from Vietnam and Thailand at elevations of 300 to 1400 meters and has a stout rhizome with 3 to 6 cm spacing between each, conical pseudobulb carrying a thick, single, apical, minutely retuse apically leaf all which blooms in the late winter on a basal, erect to lateral, to to 24 cm long, densely flowered, racemose inflorescence enveloped basally by 4 to 5 sheaths and carries many flowers.
