Philodendron Congo Apple

Philodendron Congo Apple is a very adaptable plant and can be grown in a variety of conditions when kept relatively warm. This is the perfect plant for the home or office and prefers bright over dim light sources and a bit of humidity. Baring large smooth-edged, glossy oval shaped leaves, this Philodendron isn't a climber, it is a self-header, so more clump forming, resulting in a more upright and compact plant. The new leaves will open in a bright light green and mature to a rich emerald green. Philodendrons are very easy to grow and are quite tough so will tolerate a bit of neglect and watering once a week is generally enough. The brighter the light source, the more water will be required. Do not over-water as this may cause rotting. Also avoid the foliage touching sunny windows as this can cause burning. A mild liquid or slow release fertilizer can be applied when needed.
